Wiko announces a simple cure for premature burnout
Demand for Wiko's Increased Voltage Lamps is Surging!
Are you changing projection lamps too often? Are the lamps lasting only a portion of their rated life? The problem could be power surges to the lamp. Standard outlets rarely put out a consistent 120 volts. Voltage swings above 120 volts are common. Wiko developed the increased voltage lamp to prevent early failure due to voltage fluctuations.
Longer Life with Wiko Increased Voltage Lamps
Wiko increased voltage lamps have filaments which can handle most voltage fluctuations. By using Wiko increased voltage lamps you can expect to get the rated life or more. Wiko increased voltage lamps are a simple, inexpensive cure for premature burnout!

How They Work
The Wiko increased voltage lamps have filaments that are rated 5% higher than our standard lamps. The higher rated filaments can handle power fluctuations more efficiently than our standard lamp. Even if you don't have voltage fluctuations, the increased voltage lamp will last longer than our standard lamp. A lamp operating under lower than rated voltages lasts longer.

Improving Your Light Life
This chart shows the effect of voltage on light output (lumens) and life expectancy over a variety of voltage levels. Overloading a lamp at a rated voltage drastically reduces its service. A lamp operating under slightly lower than rated voltage lasts longer.

Effects on Life and Light Output *
when lamps are burned at voltages higher or lower than their rated voltages. (for Standard Voltage Lamps)
Voltage Applied
to Lamp
% Watts % Lumens % Life
plus 15 Volts 121 151 22
plus 10 Volts 114 134 35
plus 5 Volts 107 116 60
Voltage Marked on Lamp
Minus 5 Volts 93 86 171
Minus 10 Volts 87 73 298
Minus 15 Volts 81 63 535

Example: a 500 watt projection lamp marked 115 volts burning on 120 volts (socket voltage), would consume 535 watts, and give 18% more light, but with a life of only 60% of its rated life.
